Myofascial Release treatment is a hands-on, manual therapy focusing on soft tissue.
This treatment involves very slow moves and gentle but sustained pressure.
Fascia cannot be forced as it has a quality known as “Thixotrophy” where force is met by a returned force.
Thixotropy is the property of certain gels or fluids that are thick (viscous) under normal conditions, but flow ( become thin, and less viscous) when shaken, agitated, or otherwise stressed.
There for during this treatment the gentle movement along with the pressure, will be held for up to 3 minutes. This allows the fascia to elongate and restore to a healthy position.
